Internal tools are the heart of any company. Currently, we are working on updating and optimizing the internal platform for personal loan originations and collections.
Instant Disbursement
We are working on providing more options for our members. In this case, a digital spending account (which also offers savings, investment, and budgeting). Members could get their loan funds within minutes.
Warehouse Picking
A mobile app that helps warehouse employees track their daily work. The goal of this app is to help optimize the labor planning and strategy of the picking process.

My Story
My name is Gabriela Rivera. I'm a product designer based with 6 years of experience in a diverse range of industries: fashion, digital marketing, ERP systems, healthcare (PBM), and fintech.
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, but in pursuit of developing my career, I then moved to the US. I lived in Michigan for 2 years, and now I am back in the warm weather based in Florida with my husband and our 2 dogs.
I’m currently working at Oportun. Our job is to provide tools with the goal of increasing the financial health of all our members.
I get to work with product managers, engineers, and design researchers & strategists, to explore, create, and build solutions with a design thinking mindset.
I believe in contributing to a greater cause, making a difference, adding value, and having an impact. I enjoy helping others, making sense of things, and solving problems. I love to talk, connect with people, and build trust. When faced with a problem or challenge, I look at the situation from different angles, determine the resources I have available to solve it, and then I act.

Building products and focusing on the overall experience of a tool is one way of helping others achieve their goals.
UI
For me, UI Design is a crucial part of UX. Once you understand the problem and have several solutions, UI brings those solutions to life.
Code
My first step into tech was learning HTML, CSS, JS, and Flutter. Even though I only know the basics, I enjoy being in the development process.
